Just as she inspires confidence through her own work, she has also helped build confidence in the nurses she has mentored and guided, always with the ultimate goal of benefiting our patients.
Evelyn is an incredibly compassionate and empathetic person who supports her team in every possible way. In addition to being a leader, she goes far beyond that role. She provides tremendous support in nursing-related situations and is always willing to help. Whenever you ask her for something, her immediate response is: “What do you need?” and she instantly looks for a way to support you.
When it comes to patients with difficult vascular access, she steps in immediately and is among the most experienced in this area. That gives us an enormous sense of security because we know we can always count on her support, delivered with calmness and patience.
I have gotten along extremely well with her, and I am truly happy to work alongside her. Great supervisors and leaders are not leaders simply because of their title, but because they can put themselves in our shoes and understand that at any moment we may need their help. Evelyn embodies exactly that. She is empathetic, and not everyone naturally takes that initiative. I believe she is an outstanding coordinator and leader. If the intercom rings, she answers and helps, no matter how busy she may be, whether it is for something small or something significant.
She also recognizes my work and has told me, “I know you are here and that you can handle it.” Hearing that gives me peace of mind and confidence, knowing that everything will be okay.
Just as she inspires confidence through her own work, she has also helped build confidence in the nurses she has mentored and guided, always with the ultimate goal of benefiting our patients.
Evelyn, thank you for inspiring confidence in me, for helping me, and for always reminding both your team and me that we can become better people.
