Evelyn Roman 2, RN
Nomination 1:
Evelyn has been such a great advocate for a particular patient during his hospital stay. When he was confused and at his most vulnerable, Evelyn made sure he was safe. She checked in on him frequently and made sure he was comfortable. She took the time to review lab results and plan of care, and did a great job communicating updates with the family. We asked him what he liked about his nurse, and he said, “She’s very punctual, kind, and hard working.” Every patient needs an Evelyn on their team.
Nomination 2:
Evelyn made my stay at Memorial Hospital much easier with her kind and pleasant words. When she was on her shift, she came by to update me on tests, check on me, and meet every need I had. One day, I was in dire need of a catheter and stayed to do the procedure because I was not comfortable with someone new. She was always patient and reassuring to ease any anxiety I had regarding my problems. She always took the time to explain everything in terms I could understand. I am a 76-year-old man who can be short and grumpy sometimes, but Evelyn made me kinder. She has qualities you can not teach. Evelyn is a “God Sent Nurse.”
