I came to the hospital expecting to have an easy stay. Everything was going as expected. While I was undergoing a procedure in the room, my husband got lightheaded and Evelyn quickly jumped in. Evelyn was right there when things started to get a little scary for me—from cleaning up vomit to getting me washcloths, Evelyn anticipated my needs. When Evelyn and the doctor realized I had an emergent situation—everything changed! She immediately reassured me that we were in good hands and everyone was here for me and my family. Even as I began crying due to being scared, Evelyn kept talking to me and worked to ease my fears and my husbands'. Throughout my stay, Evelyn truly cared and understood how we were feeling. I appreciate Evelyn's compassion, humor, honesty, and reassurance. I am ok, but this was the most frightening experience my husband and I have ever had. We were blessed to be placed in such capable hands. Thank you for seeing us as people and not just a number.
