Ever provided a refresher on EKG interpretation to staff. He dedicated one day a week in November to come up to the unit and assist in increasing their knowledge and confidence with EKG interpretation. Without hesitation, he did this. We called the refresher "Come get Clever with Ever". This was a success. You will hear him saying always, "let me know what I can do to help out; I'm there".
He is great at assessing and explaining to his patients and families about what is going on with them. This is evident in the comments we receive in leader rounds.
Ever has demonstrated giving and compassion on numerous occasions. One day, he delivered a motorized wheelchair to a patient. He gave that patient and their family hope that things were going to be okay. He gave that family piece of mind and they left the hospital confident in the road that lies ahead. It was not the mere gesture of the material item. It gave them hope.
Ever has the internal drive that exemplifies the nurses that we want taking care of our loved ones. The staff on P5 recognize him as a role model for going above and beyond his call of duty.
