I would describe just one story that demonstrates how this nurse made a meaningful difference in my care, but there are too many instances to write about. From the start, she has a light that brightens up the room. She has been extremely sweet, caring, and goes above and beyond for her patients. I’ve seen the passion she has for nursing not only in the way she cares for me, but I’ve seen it in the way she cares for her other patients as well. She never makes us feel like we are a burden, has a consistent amount of care in everything she does, and does her job efficiently. I have a huge fear of hospitals, and she has made the whole ordeal go so smoothly. When my veins were being stubborn and didn’t want to cooperate with the IV, she tried everything to make me feel comfortable. She told me encouraging words & even distracted me from the pain by asking me random questions. The smile she always has is contagious. I look forward to when her shift comes around because she is like a breath of fresh air. Even at the end of what I can imagine was a grueling shift, her demeanor stays the same. She is a prime example of what every nurse should be. Great bedside manners, a passion for what she does, and kindness to everyone around her, including her colleagues.
