My wife was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2018. This was shocking to our family. However, I certainly believed that King Hussein Cancer Center has many outstanding nurses who are armed with compassion and excellence, especially the nurses in adult outpatient clinics. The nurse coordinator Fadwa is definitely one of them. She is genuinely a caring nurse. Actually, Fadwa has a wonderful personality that is full of compassion and caring for her patients. She treated my wife as if she were a member of her family, providing care with a big smile and kindness and always offering herself for assistance. She is also a dedicated and knowledgeable nurse. She was constantly providing invaluable information to us about the treatment plan and medications, patiently providing all of the support, advice, and guidance needed during each clinic visit.

Fadwa's compassionate care for patients and their families made a significant difference. She was extremely supportive, stood by me and my family during all our difficult times, and relieved our anxiety by answering our frequent phone calls and questions, even after working hours. She frequently helped my wife to address all her concerns, ease her tension during stressful times, and provided her with the hope and indispensable power needed to fight cancer in a caring manner. In fact, we could hear Fadwa's empathy in her voice. I am convinced that such courtesy and excellent nursing care go above and beyond my expectations.

Fadwa distinguished herself as an outstanding advocate for high-quality patient care and patient safety. Her excellent communication skills and collaborative approach with other members of the healthcare team positively impacted my wife's recovery throughout all stages of treatment. She collaborated with other members of the team to ensure that everything is running smoothly and in accordance with the care plan. For example, she scheduled all appointments in a way that took into consideration our family's unique circumstances. Fadwa demonstrated a strong potential for providing exceptional high-quality nursing care, not only to the patient but also to the family.

I wrote this DAISY nomination story in my and my family's names because we are grateful to Nurse Fadwa for all her great support throughout our treatment journey at this specialized center. I strongly believe that Nurse Fadwa deserves this renowned recognition for all the reasons mentioned above.
