Faith Heber, RN

I started having complications from the surgery that brought me here. Other nurses and staff gave me care, but Faith was the one to see that there was something much bigger going on and to advocate for me.

When my condition started to worsen from when her shift started, when we first met, she noticed right away and went above and beyond. It started with small acts: a cold washcloth on my forehead, making sure I had an extra pillow to help my pain, etc. 

Then, it became the things that I feel saved me so much pain and suffering. She escalated her concerns to the Rapid Response Team, would not stop fighting for me, and maybe, most importantly, in some ways, held my hand and told me that I wasn’t alone. I was scared in a way I have never been. I honestly didn’t think I would survive. Faith got me through the hardest night of my life.

I think there is something to be said about the fact that I remember her as the calm in a storm that included 10/10 pain and vomiting stool. I go home today, and I believe that Faith is a large part of why. Thank you.
