I have been fortunate to be assigned a bed in 4 west in the cardiac unit. I came in after being treated in the ER for 36 hrs. Farah welcomed me and got me settled in the room. She was calm and assured me I was in good hands at the hospital. Quickly getting me settled, asking my choices of water, ice water, tea, etc. Farah made sure I knew how to order food services and tv and phone. She reached around to plug in my charger which I could not reach. One night we had a discussion about how important it was to be well in the body but to also take time to focus on my mental health. I think she recognized in me a type A personality who probably didn’t take time to relax, be aware and perhaps be meditative. She shared her experience of emptying the mind of worries and making lists so that my brain would be more peaceful. I have been lucky to have Farah as my nurse for 3 of the evenings I was in the hospital. Thank you, Farah and I hope you know you are appreciated!
