Faris was the charge nurse on night shift and was getting ready to leave for the day. There was a patient on the unit that had a family member come by with questions. Faris stopped and answered all of their questions and reassured them that their family member was in good hands. Then they explained that the patient's father lived out of state and had not gotten a good report from the physicians and was concerned. Faris took the time and called the father, speaking with him for over an hour, answering his questions. Faris then had the PA call the father to make sure he received some peace of mind about his son.
