Fatimah is not only a full-time student but also a mother of 4 children of her own. You could see the mother in her shine while doing her pediatric rotation. Not only did she give the children on the unit extra time and care, but she also helped her fellow students to care for the children on the unit as well. She noticed one baby that was alone and was admitted with no clothes of her own. Fatimah took the time to find warm clothes for this child. The child always seemed to get out of her swaddle and would drop her temperature. She rallied the students to help make sure this child was being checked on regularly and was staying warm. Many times you would find Fatimah or the other students holding this child to help keep her warm. Prior to this, the nurses were having trouble keeping the child warm and normothermic. She really always went above and beyond her duties as a student and deserves to be awarded this honor.
