She is, of course, a highly trained nurse. But she calmed me down when I didn't even know I was panicking. She has soothed me with her kind tone and understanding. She managed to get me calm with many techniques.
I had brain surgery 2 days ago and have been anxious during the recovery. I have PTSD and as hard as I tried, was not able to control my anxiety. Things did not change until an AMAZING nurse came today, her name is Ms. Favour E. Isaiah, and she has been a God send! I would imagine that the last patient a nurse would care to invest so much time with would be someone who was (in reality) making his condition worse. As far as I know, she is a nurse and NOT a counselor. However, I have observed that the nursing field is very similar to me teaching my elementary children. Sometimes, you have to be a nurse to reassure 2nd graders that they are fine. Oftentimes, we have to be counselors when they need soothing. There are other times when they simply need a friend. All of these are very similar to the field of wonderful nurses. Over the last 2 days, I have seen outstanding Doctors and nurses, all of whom had many of these qualities. However, Favour has demonstrated them all! She is, of course, a highly trained nurse. But she calmed me down when I didn't even know I was panicking. She has soothed me with her kind tone and understanding. She managed to get me calm with many techniques. She noticed everything in my surroundings. For example, my wife is pregnant and Favour’s nursing instincts immediately were clear to see. She was helping my wife, which lowered my stress, knowing my pregnant wife was not being stressed. She even brought her cereal. She talked to us as friends and not simply as a patient. I truly hope that this note reaches someone who will pass along my gratefulness.
