Faye agreed to come away from her home ward in order to support J09, the Cardiorespiratory ward. Taking this step demonstrates Faye's willingness to go above and beyond to work collaboratively and for best of the Trust. Faye is driven by challenges, focused, and committed to her team, patients and is on the upward angle for quality improvement.
Faye is a great leader whose positive attitude is contagious to those around her. She is a strong role model for her team as an honest, supportive, and approachable manager. The feedback we have received from her team, which includes RNs, CSWs and Student Nurses is that J09 seems like a new ward since Faye arrived.
Faye improved the physical environment on J09 and focused on her staff's emotional well-being by being visible around the ward as a leader and staying with the team in working through the challenges faced through the pandemic.
Faye ensures her team knows that she is there for them if they need anything. She has been very influential in improving staff morale by treating everyone fairly and providing her team with a sense of direction. Faye excels within her role as a Ward Manager and is very good to work with and learn from.
Faye is very patient safety-focused, always ensuring the nursing basics are done correctly. She is warm in welcoming people and is very open to suggestions and opinions for change/ improvement. Faye will make sure appropriate measures are taken to prevent any harm to patients and staff. She encourages positive reflections on the ward with celebrating patient discharges with positive outcomes and shares in her team's emotions.
Faye is a true example of the "Leeds Way" as she clearly demonstrates that she is Patient-Centred, Fair, Collaborative, Accountable and Empowered. We feel that she should be recognized for all her invaluable contributions to nursing and team building.
