It is impossible to summarize in a few words what kind of nurse Fe Sindone is to the PACU. She has devoted her life to caring for a unique and complex group of veterans. She takes it upon herself to serve the highest quality care and continually looks to improve the PACU. She is always available to mentor new nurses on observation of IVs and starting IVs on patients that are difficult to find veins. Fe's interaction with our veterans has been observed, on several occasions and she always provides compassionate care to them. Her leadership, knowledge, family-centered approach and innovation have shaped and impacted numerous nurses, veterans and the PACU unit as a whole. I am honored to have had the opportunity to learn from Fe and look to her as a role model for the type of nurse I want to be in the future. She is an extraordinary nurse who exemplifies our VA core values.
