Felicia has a wonderful happiness about her that is so rare and she certainly has helped my husband to realize that he will eventually be able to make it back home.
My husband was in Chippenham for 49 days having had four surgical procedures. He is 77 and the prospect for him to survive was not that good. While he had many great nurses there, when we came to JW rehab we were even more surprised and blessed to meet such an outstanding nurse. Since the first day we had her, she exuded sincere happiness and a positive attitude, and most importantly she has a true joy for living. She immediately made us feel comfortable! This was the first time he had been in rehab and we were afraid.
She made my husband feel like he was her only patient. We asked a lot of questions and she took the extra time to make sure we understood. My husband was very confused. She recognized this right away and took the extra time to help him whenever he needed it.
He would make "baby steps" in his progress and she would make a really big deal out of it. This gave him the incentive to do more!! The urologist decided to have the catheter removed and she was so excited for him. When he was able to urinate on his own, she was actually so thrilled and it really rubbed off on him. He was so proud to tell me he had gone on his own. When I arrived that day she made sure I knew about the success and that it was indeed a happy time to celebrate.
Her caring attitude and total professionalism need to be recognized. She has a wonderful happiness about her that is so rare and she certainly has helped my husband to realize that he will eventually be able to make it back home.
This would not have been possible without the encouragement and genuine care from Felicia. Thank you so much - we will always be so grateful for your care and compassion.
