Felicia Noel, RN

Felicia recently went above and beyond for one of her patients, and as her coworker, I was incredibly proud of her.

There was a patient scheduled for treatment, and during her pre-treatment assessment, Felicia identified additional health concerns that needed to be addressed. The patient had previously had a drain inserted and had been waiting for follow-up regarding drain removal and further care. Upon further investigation, Felicia discovered there had been miscommunications along the way, and the patient had not received the necessary follow-up—leaving the drain overdue for removal.

I witnessed Felicia make multiple phone calls, coordinate with several disciplines, and reassure the patient that everything would be taken care of. She did all of this while also managing her other patients and continuing to assist her coworkers.

By the end of the day, the patient had all necessary appointments in place, and all communication was clearly explained to both the patient and his caregiver. This act truly exemplified patient advocacy, compassionate care, and persistence in ensuring safe, timely treatment.
