I am emailing you to let you know how wonderful Felicia Ward is. I would love for you to know how much of an asset she is to our unit when she is here. To begin, I believe it was last Saturday when a patient hit the call light around 6:30 pm extremely anxious. She was another nurse's patient and that nurse was busy with a new admit but I knew that I could count on Felicia to help. She was in the middle of discharging one of her own but without hesitation, she immediately got a computer and began to help the patient. She was still able to get her patient discharged before shift change while assisting the other patient with her needs. She is always so compassionate and respectful towards patients, family members, and coworkers. Today she is with us again and I noticed that she got a patient (who was not assigned to her) into a wheelchair and brought him for a walk around the hospital and outside for fresh air. I would like to add that this patient has a drain, a wound vac, and a foley and isn't the easiest to get up and around. She had him yesterday and even though she had a different assignment today, she proceeded to check up on him. This particular patient hasn't been outside in months except when he was transported to a rehab facility about a month ago. Please keep in mind that these are only two examples and I could provide you with more as to why she is an amazing nurse and represents all of BayCare values.
