Being in the hospital for that long can cause people to lose hope and happiness and Felicity helped to create and moment that fostered all these good feelings.
AA was an ECMO patient who was on our unit for over 200 days, the longest record for our COVID ICU. Both he and his wife became very dear to our hearts as we watched them struggle to stay alive for almost a year. This past Valentine's Day Felicity had AA as her patient. Knowing that his wife was coming on that day and that his time could be running out she took the opportunity upon herself to help AA make this Valentine's Day special. Felicity gave him a shirt that belonged to her husband to spruce him up a bit and made a makeshift tablecloth accompanied with chocolates balloons and roses. This helped to create a romantic moment that had been difficult for the couple to find during this long journey. It was such a selfless act that brought AA's wife to tears.

Being in the hospital for that long can cause people to lose hope and happiness and Felicity helped to create and moment that fostered all these good feelings. A picture was taken of this moment and is currently the backdrop of our ICU's website home page. Felicity goes FAR above and beyond for her patients. She makes the lives of everyone who knows her better. I am honored to work alongside her. Truly I have never known. someone more deserving of this award. AA later went to get lungs and is now a story of hope for our unit. This day continues to be something that makes our unit proud.
