Felipe Barrera, RN

Felipe is a genuine and compassionate caregiver. During our hospital stay, he was always approachable and considerate of all of our needs. He displayed a high level of compassion and reflected strong ethics. One night, my dad’s heart monitor reported an irregular heart pattern that could cause a life-threatening blood clot. During the night, Felipe reported the problem to the appropriate personnel. He kept vigilant watch throughout the night. He also came by in the morning at the end of his shift and told us how to explain our concerns when we sought help for Dad’s heart issue. It is my opinion that some may have ended their shift and considered they had done their job and left it to chance and leaving it unresolved. The compassion and ethics Felipe displayed for my father are appreciated more than he will know – more than physical caring for my dad, I believe he displayed a character trait that we thought had diminished.
