I would like to recognize Felix Choo for the exceptional support he provides to our MRI Department. Felix consistently goes above and beyond to help both staff and patients. He is always approachable, responsive, and willing to assist whenever challenges arise. His positive attitude, professionalism, and dedication make a significant difference in our daily operations. Working in a busy MRI environment can be demanding, but Felix is always ready to help solve problems, answer questions, and provide support when needed. His willingness to assist others creates a collaborative and respectful workplace where staff feel supported and valued. Felix also demonstrates genuine compassion toward patients. He understands that many patients are anxious or uncomfortable during their MRI exams and treats them with kindness, patience, and respect. His calm and caring approach helps patients feel more at ease during their visit. What stands out most about Felix is his commitment to helping others succeed. He is dependable, knowledgeable, and consistently willing to share his expertise. His contributions help the department provide safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Felix’s dedication, teamwork, and compassion make him an invaluable member of our MRI Department. It is my honor to nominate Felix Choo for the DAISY Award. As his coworker, I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the kind of nurse he is every single day, and simply put, he is extraordinary.
Felix is part of our Radiology team, where he supports a wide range of procedures including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Mammography, and Interventional Radiology. No matter how demanding the day gets, Felix shows up with a smile, a calm presence, and treats every coworker with genuine kindness, making everyone around him feel valued and at ease. One of Felix’s standout clinical strengths is his expertise with difficult IV access. When a patient is a hard stick and the team is struggling, Felix is the person everyone calls, and he always delivers. His skill and confidence in those moments not only improve patient outcomes but also ease the uncomfortable situations the patients experience. This is especially evident during pediatric sedation cases, where the physicians specifically seek Felix out because they know how capable, calm, and reliable he is in those sensitive and delicate situations. The trust that doctors place in him speaks volumes about the level of expertise and professionalism he brings to every case.
Beyond his clinical skills, what makes Felix irreplaceable is his heart. He never hesitates to help a colleague, no matter how full his own plate is. There are days he does not even stop for a break because he is too busy making sure everyone else is taken care of. You never have to ask him twice. Sometimes you barely finish a sentence, and he is already stepping in. He shares his knowledge freely, lifts the team’s spirit, and brings a sense of friendship and joy to the workplace without ever losing his professionalism.

For 20 years of dedicated service, Felix has consistently demonstrated what it means to be an exceptional nurse and an invaluable member of our team.
When I first started in this area as a manager, one of the things that immediately stood out to me was how welcoming and open the staff were. Walking into the unit, I was met with a genuine sense of warmth, teamwork, and support. Felix was a part of those early personal interactions that made me feel welcomed and comfortable as I became part of the area. His approachable nature, kindness, and willingness to connect with others made a lasting impression on me.
Felix has a special talent for caring for our pediatric patients. He makes children and their families feel safe, heard, and cared for, even during difficult moments. His patience, kindness, and clinical expertise truly make a difference.
And when it comes to IVs, Felix is our resident expert! If IV access were an Olympic sport, we would be sending him to represent the unit. His skill and confidence have made him a trusted resource for his colleagues.
His dedication has also earned him the Shining Star Award for consecutive years. At this point, we have to wonder if Felix is collecting awards—or if the awards are simply trying to keep up with him!
But beyond his clinical skills and accomplishments, what makes Felix truly special is his compassion. He listens, reassures, advocates, and brings kindness to even the most stressful situations.
He is an incredible teammate—someone we can always count on for help, encouragement, and maybe a little humor when we need it most. His welcoming spirit extends beyond our patients; he makes the people around him feel valued, supported, and part of the team.
Felix, your expertise, dedication, humor, and compassion make you an invaluable part of our team. Thank you for the kindness you showed me when I first started in this area, for the way you continue to welcome and support others, and most importantly, for being such a dedicated advocate for your patients and families.
