I was a nursing student who was fortunate enough to attend my Medical/Surgical clinical rotations on 6 Tower. This is when I was assigned to Felix to shadow. I understand how difficult and busy the 12-hour shift can be. For Felix to share his time and experience was very kind of him. I noticed how attentive he is to his patients and their family members. He also does not hesitate to help his fellow colleagues. Felix has a welcoming attitude. He showed me how important it is to have a good attitude and not just know certain skills. Patients deserve compassion, especially at such a vulnerable time, and Felix has demonstrated acts of kindness many times. It is as simple as helping a patient ambulate to the bathroom and taking his time to explain a patient's condition during discharge.
