fernando echeona, RN, BSN

A very debilitated, elderly veteran was transferred from 6N to 2S. We were in the process of repositioning the patient and needed some additional assistance. 2LT Fernando Echeona just happened to show up, and he readily dropped his backpack and helped us. No questions asked. He said he was just stopping by to say "Hi" and check on his former patient on his way home after a long shift. He went out of his way to see the patient, and the patient was so pleased! 2LT Echeona's compassion is exemplary! His commitment to extend quality care without hesitation and to be part of Madigan as a new nurse is extraordinary. He is a true DAISY Nurse!
