Flo is a calming force on our unit. She inspires all of us to be our very best. She is clinically very knowledgeable. She always does the right thing for the patient no matter the cost. She’s involved in a lot of committees and takes pride in being a nurse. She is a patient and nurse advocate. She is loving and kind and always knows when a hug is needed. She often reminds her patients to put their trust in her and just “go with the Flo”. We had a patient who was from Nigeria and unfortunately suffered a detrimental stroke causing him to become non-verbal and vented. Flo is also from Nigeria and spoke his native language. Flo spoke in his native language, and to all of our surprise, he really appeared to be listening to her. This was the calmest we had ever seen him. She has truly found her calling as a nurse and deserves to be recognized for all she does for her patients and her peers.
