This nurse, who works the night shift, will always coordinate with the Laboratory to have morning labs drawn early if the patient is awake. This allows the patient to go back to sleep and not be disturbed until breakfast. This is Patient-Centered Care.

This nurse treats everyone with respect and compassion, listening to each patient and what they are experiencing, whether happy or sad. She followed my husband and his illnesses from the time she worked in the Internal Medicine Office up until he was a patient many times at BH. Although she was not my husband's nurse when he died, she took the time to say goodbye to him and to place a heart-shaped rock with him after he died to be taken to the Funeral Home. Florence Ward was truly meant to be a nurse and deserves the DAISY Award!
