Frances Milne, BSc Adult Nursing, RN

Fran is an incredible young nurse with a great deal of passion for her job and her patients, including their family members and loved ones. We had the greatest of pleasures of having Fran look after our dear "I" in the last few weeks of his life. The compassion and care she gave to "I", and also to us - his family members - was second to none. Fran had looked after "I" previously in another ward, and to have her look after "I" when he needed her the most, was utterly beautiful. She was so knowledgeable about his condition and the state that he was in that she was able to answer all of the questions that we had. When "I" was into his last few days, Fran took time out of her busy shift to sit and chat with him, even though he was unaware she was there, and also sat with family to comfort them. It is safe to say that she made the passing of "I" the most settled and reassuring that it could possibly be, and is a HUGE asset to the AMAU team, and also to the Dr Gray’s team. She has restored our faith in the NHS, and we want to thank her for that.
