Franchesca was my mother's nurse in the CVICU and was the first person to fully explain the situation. She was compassionate and thoughtful, and efficiently explained matters to everyone regardless of how detailed or simple they needed it. Franchesca was never too busy to talk to the family when we came in, and she took excellent care of my mom. When it was time to withdraw care, Franchesca stayed with us the entire time. I cannot truly express how much it meant to me when she sat down with me and let me cry, or any of the days she would carry on conversation with me that helped bring a layer of normalcy to a terrible time. I will never be able to thank her enough for the dignity she let my mom maintain and the absolute upstanding care she gives. I know I am thankful on behalf of my mom, and I know my mom would be grateful that she was so kind to her daughters.
