My 83-year-old father had Spinal Fusion surgery. He has never been hospitalized before and is normally very independent. Being confined to a bed and having to ask for help is extremely challenging for him. Francis was very professional and competent but also interacted with my father as a person, not just a patient; he took interest in my father’s crossword puzzles, books he was reading, etc. I’m embarrassed to say we were “high maintenance,“ but Francis always greeted us with a smile and was very accommodating to all requests. He also had a great sense of humor and was always smiling and laughing at our jokes. He made the time here a very pleasant experience, and we were thrilled when he was our nurse for several days in a row. This tense situation was made 1,000 times better with his patient, loving, and delightful spirit. We always felt relaxed and knew we would be well taken care of when he walked in the room.
