Thank you. You took part in saving my life. I will forever be grateful to you. For the most part, I have made a full physical recovery but I'm struggling so much mentally and emotionally. I have about a two-month memory loss starting from the day before the accident. I don't remember the accident, coming home, or much of my recovery at home. The few memories that have started to come back to me are very vivid. I remember my clothes being cut off of me and I have about three memories in the ICU.
I remember asking you where my passenger was as you were explaining to me what happened and where I was. You told me that you had to follow HIPAA and couldn't talk to me about other patients. You were there to help me recover so that I could go home to my family. I remember the first time that my husband and daughter came to see me in the ICU. You came to my bed and told me that my daughter was going to see me for the first time since the accident and I needed to be strong for her. I remember you advocating for my care and helping me get relief from the extreme pain when I had no idea what decisions needed to be made for my health. I remember you telling me that you and your girlfriend are really active in your church community. I don't have a single other memory of being in the hospital, or leaving it, nor do I remember another nurse's name that cared for me. But I remember you because of the human kindness that you showed me.
I wanted to show you my beautiful family. This was the last picture that we took together before the accident. The reality that I almost didn't make it to still be a wife and mother will stay with me every day for the rest of my life. Thank you for giving me a second chance at life.
