Frank Chiu, RN

Frank Chiu joined the Psychiatry Department team as a RN on Unit 4 in May 2019; coming from a background in a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Mr. Chiu decided that he would be of more service to the people and became an LPN in 2014. He then furthered his career and obtained his Associate degree in Nursing and worked with Chemically Dependent patients. Mr. Chiu has demonstrated a level of commitment and dedication to Behavioral Health patients and states, “there is such a stigma and bias towards patients with substance abuse and mental illness. It is rewarding to be able to establish a level of trust and a therapeutic relationship and for this population to know that there is always care and help.” He embodies and models the organization’s core values by showing professional concern for quality work and maintaining the highest standards of honesty and integrity. He is compassionate, accountable for his actions, and is always respectful to all ensuring that he provides and promotes excellent care to the population he serves. As a team member, Mr Chiu has always shown a willingness to help others and excels in developing team momentum, precepting and mentoring the new nurses. He is also an active member of the Shared Governance Council. Mr. Chiu is currently pursuing his Bachelor's degree in Nursing and is looking forward to becoming a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
