Frank Duncan, BSN, RN

Frank constantly picks up extra shifts when the unit is short-staffed. He promotes civility in the workplace and creates an inclusive environment. Frank encourages collaboration from all members of the healthcare team. He has been a mentor to many new nurses and has helped shape the culture of our unit. Frank does a great job checking in with all members of the team. If Frank notices a team member is flustered or upset he personally checks in with them. Frank lends an ear and then provides advice. Frank trusts in his co-workers and co-workers trust him, and this trust is the glue that holds the team together through difficult times on the unit. Frank has lent copies of psych-specific books and articles to co-workers that aided in professional development. Frank boosts staff morale while working on the unit. The unit reflects Frank's positive attitude, humor, and willingness to help with any task. Even the monstrous Snow-Vid storm of '21 could not deter the unit's bright morale. Frank advocates for his co-workers by expressing their needs to management in a professional way. Frank's continuing his education to earn an MSN and encourages all peers to continue education.
