Freda Barrett, RN

Freda Barrett is new to her facility and this type of nursing, but her skills, caring nature, and communication with team members and patients suggest otherwise. She's clearly not new to the medical field. Her technical skills are truly remarkable, especially in infection prevention. Managing a double port with only one functioning can be a nerve-wracking experience for patients. She always ensures it functions properly and left me knowing what to look for to maintain it. Excellent teaching, always. She also shows her ability to be part of the team by assisting others and asking questions. She took the time to constantly answer my inquiries, communicate with physicians about how to treat various reactions I was experiencing to my medication, make suggestions to alleviate problems, and reassure me and others that we were being monitored by one of the best. All this occurred amidst multiple interruptions from new orders, computer inputs, and helping her team. She listens, cares, and practices superior nursing, which deserves recognition.
