The department was nominated by our Chief Operating Officer and a family member stating she wanted to nominate the team "based on the personal connection that they make with every patient. At any time, you can go into the cancer center and see patients treated like family. Their ability to connect and remember may even be better than family. There are conversations about family gatherings, pets, upcoming events, as well as celebration milestones." She also adds, "I make this nomination not as a senior leader but as a family member who has witnessed this compassion over the last 2 years. I write this on behalf of my mother, father, and siblings."
