I just delivered a beautiful baby girl one day ago and was transferred from Labor to my postpartum room. We are a family of 3, my husband and a toddler (plus one baby girl), and we just migrated from the Philippines 8 months ago. Everything was new to me in this new country, and I did not have any family and friends here. My husband needed to go home to take care of our toddler so I was left with my newborn baby alone in the room. There came Ms Frencel. She introduced herself to us upon coming in, telling us she was our nurse for the night. She offered me my night meds and asked me about my pain. She explained clearly why I needed to take the due medication at that time. She offered me fresh water and reminded us that if I needed any help, she'd be available to help. Then she was there checking on my baby girl and doing some tests or checks on her. My baby pooped, and Ms. Frencel asked permission if we allowed her to change diapers or if WE wanted to change the diaper ourselves... we just let her during that time. She was very warm and kind whenever she was inside the room, and she was very proud of the labor nurse who handled us on the labor side during my delivery. She said that's one of the best nurses in their unit. You can really feel she is kind and does her job well. She was very patient in answering our questions and explaining things we didn't understand. We appreciate her presence and concern during our stay, and we are very thankful that she was our nurse, even for a short period of time.
