Seeing S’s sweet smile and the joy in both her and Frida’s faces was something I’ll never forget.
S, my daughter was admitted for G-tube placement. Frida cared for her pod 1 & 2. S had some pain issues that had me nervous and scared and Frida not only advocated for a better pain management plan for her but validated and listened to me. Having her as our nurse made a few scary days so much more manageable. It is very clear that Frida loves being a nurse and her patients. She even recognized that our family could benefit from some home services and contacted care management to help us find those resources. But my favorite memory of this stay was watching Frida smile and play with S. She was the first to bring S back to herself after a tough day of pain and coming out of anesthesia and seeing S’s sweet smile and the joy in both her and Frida’s faces was something I’ll never forget. Having a special needs baby is full of tough moments to navigate but caregivers like Frida make that easier and remind me of the light and joyous ones too. Thank you for being our nurse and for loving on all the kiddos that are lucky enough to get you as their nurse too.
