Gabby is an exceptional Nurse! She was instrumental in making the right decision at the right time in order to address the complexity and seriousness of my condition. I was truly blessed to have her by my side. Her compassion was beyond measure, not only for me but also, my family.

During the first days of my stay, I was lethargic and non-responsive. Gabby was willing to listen to my family and understand this was not my typical behavior. Upon hearing this, Gabby and the Charge Nurse quickly evaluated me and confirmed that immediate action needed to be taken.

Gabby proceeded to page the appropriate Doctors to obtain the necessary orders needed to treat my condition. Although I had been receiving IV fluids for three days, I was not able to urinate and my entire body was puffy.

Because of her persistence in obtaining orders from the Doctors I was given the correct treatment and began to heal and recover.

I nominate Gabby for the DAISY Award because I believe that her ability to tune in to my family's concerns was the turning point of my road to recovery. The extraordinary care she provided was far beyond what I expected.

She truly connected with me on a personal level and for me, was an "angel" in disguise.
