Gabriel Hernandez, RN, MSN

I have worked in the ICU for many years and have had many experiences with new nurses, floating nurses, transition nurses, etc. Some experiences are good and others not so much. During the pandemic, we were pushed to higher limits and many employees were reassigned. One person stood out in particular. Gabriel Hernandez from the OR was assigned to work alongside us. Gabriel came on his shift and was ready to assist anyone who may need him. I knew that I could count on him if no one else was around. He helped all of us as we continued to care for critical patients. Turn team, prone team, lunch team, procedure team, and even ECMO team. He never once turned away from a patient. Gabriel works in the OR in a very different environment but his caring human touch is reflected always.
