First, Gabe was a very caring, professional nurse. He was very attentive and quick to respond. He made me feel comfortable and cared for. What really set him apart was the time he spent helping me learn how to deal with living with a colostomy bag. I was scared and feeling like I wouldn't be able to learn how to drain and replace the bag on my own. He used a small pill cup to be the stoma and taped it onto a pad so I could practice unrolling and rolling the bag until I felt competent and confident. What a huge help! I felt such relief and saw that I could do it. I continued to practice after he left so I wouldn't forget what he taught me. He's awesome.
