Gabby is constantly thinking of innovative ways to help the clinic and provide its members with the highest quality service.
Gabriela "Gabby" Castillo is the heart and soul of the Hill Rd MOB. Gabby is the shot clinic LVN who is responsible for injections, retinal photos, pre-op EKGs, alternate schedule PEDS vaccines, and anything else that can be delegated to the LVN shot clinic. In the 5 years she has been at the Hill Rd MOB she has demonstrated all 7 of the above criteria (Integrity, Partnership, Flexibility/Innovation, Service, Quality, Accountability, Results).
Gabby is known for her integrity; she follows through on everything that she says she will complete. She has created her own waitlists and outreach for patients who may need sooner appointments in the shot clinic and her above and beyond approach provides the members with the highest level of service. Gabby partners with every department in our clinic. She works closely with CCM for hypertension management which has become the model for the service area and Hill Rd. is routinely a top performer.
Flexibility/Innovation: Gabby is constantly thinking of innovative ways to help the clinic and provide its members with the highest quality service. Gabby is QBS II rated, and she has developed a workflow where she scans the message pools and back-office in-baskets for Spanish-speaking members and calls the patients either to provide them with a message from their doctor or prepare the call center message to be routed to the doctor. Her dedication to every aspect of the Kaiser care delivery model builds a strong lasting relationship with our members and adds a personal touch by having a bi-lingual nurse call in a timely manner.
Gabby serves as a bi-lingual resource for all departments and specialties at Hill Rd. Gabby recently volunteered to adjust her schedule to be available to work Saturday to focus on messaging; this is a great example of how Gabby will present innovative strategies to provide the highest quality care. Gabby has also worked at the Oxnard Urgent Care when there were sick calls or short staffing due to Holidays. Gabby is an invaluable resource to the Western Ventura outlying MOBs and she embodies everything the DAISY Award stands for. It is an honor to write this nomination.
