Gabriela David, RN

Immediately postoperative, status post spinal surgery revision, l had the pleasure of meeting Gabriela. I have issues with pain management as this was my third spinal surgery in three years, so I am more complicated than the next patient when it comes to managing pain. Gabriela, without judgment, saw me as a human, not a number. She communicated and collaborated with the provider to manage my pain. I recognize that it was challenging for the provider and the nurse to get me to a reasonable pain level while keeping my vital signs stable. What is most important is Gabriela's recognition that she wanted to provide me with the best care, knowing the pain management challenges that she was confronted with. She compassionately displayed excellence in care and respect throughout her tours of duty. She always made me feel that I was most important, which left me feeling secure with the care that she delivered to me. I recommend and nominate Gabriela for the DAISY Award for providing outstanding and excellent care to a complex patient. She is an amazing nurse.
