Gabriela was one of the most amazing nurses whom I got to see help my dad. My father was admitted for the first time when he was hit by a bull and broke every rib. My family and I took shifts staying with him day and night. I stayed overnight on the night that she worked. She explained everything to me in such detail as to what she was doing, how he would respond, what indicators regarding his vitals were important, and what all the beeps were about. I got to actually sleep a few hours while I stayed, which was quite remarkable, considering the high stress my family and I were under since my father was induced at that time. I woke up to a country song playing, one that I had heard many many times over. The artist: Rodney Atkins and the album: If You're Going Through Hell. It was such a great feeling watching her sing the song while it played, as she attended to my father. What really impressed me, other than her amazing social skills to provide me comfort, is that she was so great with my dad. I can never repay her for that. Her playing music for him was the sweetest thing I had ever witnessed. When he woke up from being induced, I asked him if he remembered that song playing, and he did!!! She was such a remarkable staff member but honestly, she has to be one of the best people there that I can remember. I was utterly blown away just by how each and every single person was attentive and sweet. It made the whole life-threatening experience that my dad went through so easy to handle. I can never thank the staff and DHR enough. I just really wanted to thank Gabriela from the bottom of my heart. She is a superstar.
