When I saw the DAISY nomination form, Gabi Saenz came to mind. Being a new mom to a preemie who had to return to the hospital after discharge is an overwhelming thing. We were lucky to have Gabi as our daughter's nurse. Gabi is extraordinary in every sense of the word. Caring for her patients and their families is her calling, not just her job. Gabi took my daughter and my family under her wing and made sure she explained everything to us with a positive caring demeanor. Gabi shared her own personal experiences with us and offered her tips of what worked for her. Gabi always leaves us with the feeling that my daughter is getting the best care because of her capable hands. Being a new mom isn't easy, seeing your newborn back in the hospital with tubes and IV's and machines hooked up to her is a terrible experience. It's nurses like Gabi that help control the stress and anxiety.

Gabi sets the bar high for other nurses. Gabi is an excellent example for RN's to live up to. Her always going above and beyond is extraordinary Gabi is well deserving of this award.
