Of utmost importance to Gabby was our daughter's comfort.
Our 2-year-old daughter was a patient for 3 days. She was on a roller coaster; we never knew what to expect. Everything was new and frightening to us as we watched her struggle to breathe. Through it all, Scott Downing and Gabby Diaz were there, working tirelessly, diligently, helping all of us to understand issues and ramifications. Scott patiently explained things to us, sometimes more than once, until we understood. Of utmost importance to Gabby was our daughter's comfort. Scott was also concerned, expressed repeatedly, about each of us. He obviously cares deeply about his patients and their families. Scott & Gabby became like family to us. I wanted to hug them hello and goodbye. Everyday these nurses' knowledge and skills were evident. For example, one day our daughter's 02 saturation was dropping when she was sleeping, so they had to turn up her oxygen more, and it worked. Their tireless, devoted, and skilled passion for our daughter’s well-being made a huge impression on us. They stood out as nurses willing and able to go beyond the normal call of duty. Words cannot really express the amount of care that they provided for us the few days we were there. We want to thank them so many times over and over again!
