Gabrielle Delgatto, registered nurse

Our 81-year-old mom/grandmother has been a patient for over a week now. It's been an emotional roller coaster of a week dealing with new information, the setbacks, and progress, all while our mom/grandmother doesn't speak English herself. Gabby was the first nurse she had here and has gone above and beyond to check in with her. Making sure she has what she needs and is comfortable. I came down from Boston to see my grandmother and saw the way Gabby treated my grandma like her own. She knew how difficult it had been navigating the unknown this week, and she made sure to check in with family members on the information, explain terminology, and advocate hard for the best possible treatment and care for my grandma. I saw the way she truly cared, and they grew together to truly admire one another. She has attention to detail and asked if we would like to continue to prick her finger even though she is not diabetic. It showed caring is translucent to the way the heart shows. Without fully understanding her, my grandmother knew she was being cared for with the best care. Gabby's compassion and care truly left an impression on us, and it made our experience much better.
