Gabrielle then applied to the RN program and was accepted as an alternate but due to limited space she could not continue. Gabrielle reapplied and was accepted in Spring 2021 to the ADN program. She has continued to serve at RFC and is now the manager there. She also serves at the UCR Street Medicine clinic. She also serves as a student rep. for Social Justice and is a member of the Black Student Nurses Organization. She is also a Umoja Peer Mentor where she is mentoring a CNA and RN student in the Umoja Nursing Cohorts. She assists with the TEAS workshop with me as well as high school outreach workshops. She has volunteered at the RCC covid vaccine clinics She started a special interest committee called Spiritually me in hopes to bridge the gap between spirituality and nursing. Gabrielle is a single mom, who has a passion for helping others. She makes herself available at a moment’s notice and always has a positive attitude. She continues to work hard in her coursework but somehow still manages to come up with ways she can help this program and her peers. In clinical, she has always demonstrated her compassion for her clients. Teamwork and dedication are just a few ways to describe her in clinical. She is truly deserving of this award.
