I am writing this because I think everyone should know what a great and caring nurse Gail Cavanaugh is. I have worked with Gail for years in the medical imaging department. Gail is so good at managing the nurses and having all the procedures go smoothly with the patients and the doctors. Gail always shows the patients understanding and caring and her knowledge. But on this one occasion we had to go to the patient inhouse for a procedure. The patient was alert but confused. Gail sat and talked with him and tried to make him understand what was to happen with the procedure. She was so patient and had such a caring and calming presence in her voice. It made me calm. Finally with her knowledge of being a nurse, talked with the Nurse Practitioner who was present and said maybe this should be done at a later time when not so confused. I feel she needs recognition for this time and many others in the past and in the present.
