November 2019 Honoree
gail cole, BSN, RN
I was in a class she was leading, Seniorcize, and since she knows I am a diabetic she asked if I felt ok. I told her I felt fine. Next thing I knew she had a blood sugar monitor and was checking my blood sugar level. Then she had her blood pressure kit and was measuring that. Told me she was calling an ambulance and I needed to call my wife. My blood pressure was 210 over 97. The emergency room doctor said I was lucky the nurse recognized I had a problem. I spent 4 nights in the hospital receiving excellent care from some of the nicest staff I could have asked for. But Mrs. Cole, seeing a problem and acting upon it as she did, saved my life.
Thank you, Gail, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
