Gail treated my husband in a way I would want to be treated if I were in the hospital.
I've spent the last couple of days in ICU after my husband had a bone marrow transplant and got an infection before engraftment. It's been a scary time, but thank God, things seem to be improving. Yesterday was a very busy day in my husband's hospital room with a lot of procedures going on, and with the Coronavirus, I was not able to leave the room. My point is, I had a lot of time to just observe and pray.
My husband's nurse, Gail, was just phenomenal. Not only was she very attentive to my husband, but she was also training another nurse, and she really took the time to make sure he learned and learned right. She treated my husband in a way I would want to be treated if I were in the hospital.
Meanwhile, I had some very personal issues arise at home regarding my children and my own health. I didn't want to make it about me at all, but it soon became necessary. I confided my problems to Gail, and in my opinion, she went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable, and my needs were met. Did I mention that she did all of this from 7 to 7 with a smile on her face?
