Gail has been a nurse for more than 30 years and still comes to work bubbly, happy, upbeat and ready to work EVERY DAY! Gail gets along well with all of her peers and co-workers. She is empathetic to her patients and co-workers too. I consider Gail to be a role model for every nurse because she is so enthusiastic, hardworking, flexible, caring and compassionate. She truly does exemplify the essence of an AMAZING nurse. I feel honored to know her as a peer, mentor, coworker and friend.
***
Gail excels at any task put before her. Nothing is ever a problem or too much for her to do. There are many examples of her team work, empathy and professionalism. She is almost always the first to help with patient or staffing issues within the department. She will frequently change her days to work or work extra when asked depending on the needs of the unit.
Most recently, Gail has energized the Unit Based Council. She has brought issues within the department to light, and is actively working to resolve the problems. One example is the total shoulder education. Gail, along with the preoperative staff, has worked to make this education appropriate and cohesive for the patients. Many of the staff confers with her regarding problems or concerns. Gail has been one of the nurses in PreOp to help begin the Pediatric Program for PreOp and Recovery. She has taken on this new challenge of pediatrics with grace, skill and laughter. Gail exemplifies professionalism in nursing.
