I have been blessed to have worked with Gail for nearly fourteen years. She has been such a special part of my life and career. She was my preceptor when I was just starting my nursing career. I have learned so much from her throughout the years, and she was so patient with me. I hope to pass on the knowledge she has given me for the rest of my career; she has impacted every new employee that has worked the night shift on 4200 whether or not she had directly trained them.
She is so kind hearted, honest and truly empathetic; she is one of the most wonderful people that I have ever encountered. She had her own battle with cancer, and still managed to selflessly put the needs of others before her own. She was still working while undergoing chemo. Her faith in God is so strong. She is not just my mentor or coworker, she is someone I consider family, I call her my second mom.
I have the utmost respect for this woman. She is one of the most amazing nurses I have ever encountered. Nursing is her true love along with family and friends. I cannot thank her enough for helping me become the nurse I am today. She will always be my angel wearing white.

Since her nomination Gail has passed away. We would like to thank her for her 20 years of dedicated service. She was a blessing to her patients, their families, coworkers, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. We extend our congratulations and appreciation to Gail's family. Her memory and impact on her patients and coworkers will continue to live on through this award
