Gail recently showed a great deal of compassion to a dying patient. It was her second shift taking care of this wonderful patient. His family had just left for the night. Gail had a feeling things just weren't right. She diverted from her usual routine and was repeatedly checking on this patient. When she went in the last time, he motioned her over and gave her a smile. She held his hand as he took his last breath. This patient did not die alone due to the remarkable, compassionate care of Gail Spring. She was able to comfort his family knowing that their loving father did not die without someone there, someone that cared for him!
Gail was also nominated a second time by a patient that said she was "very helpful and kind. At my lowest moment she was able to keep me calm and feel better."
We have all been touched by the remarkable care, clinical skills and compassion that Gail Spring has demonstrated. Gail brought to life the true meaning of the word "compassion".
