I cannot thank Gannell enough for the care she provided my mom, and the compassion she showed to both of us. She didn't just do her job, she did it with respect, compassion, and understanding. She was on top of all of my mom's medications and needs for the days that she was her nurse. Additionally, you could tell she took pride in her work and genuinely cared about my mother and how she was feeling. On one of the days, we got some sad news about my mom's prognosis. She asked me if there was anything she could do and let me know that she was there to talk if I needed to. She also informed me that the hospital offered services to talk to someone if needed. I thanked her, but she could tell that I was struggling to put on a brave face for my mom. She came over and hugged me. She knew that I desperately needed a hug in that moment because my husband was 650 miles away and I was by myself at the hospital with my mom. I am immensely grateful for her superb nursing skills, compassion, understanding, professionalism, kind heart, and ultimately the care and respect she showed my mom. Nurses like Gannell make a world of a difference, especially under difficult situations. Thank you, Gannell!
